Other manufacturer's harnesses often encircle the neck, and when your doxie pulls forward, exceptionally strong forces can be applied to the neck, throat and delicate voice box, which can cause choking and serious damage. As a test, have someone hold your doxie's leash as she or he pulls and put your finger between the harness or collar and where it meets the neck.
